Human Rights Poster Contest Winners!

This year our class entered the Human Rights Poster Contest sponsored by the Human Rights Council of Washington County.

The theme this year was Building Bridges For Humanity. A small group of students came up with potential designs for the poster this fall. We voted on them as a class and then each student chose a word and design for the final poster.

We were invited to attend the Martin Luther King Celebration to accept our award. A few of us were able to make it through the ice and snow to attend the celebration last night.  We had a great time and, as always, there were lots of cookies!

The guest speaker for the celebration was not able to make it due to the ice and snow so presenters asked audience members to speak. I'm so proud of the two of our students who shared their thoughts on human rights.
